UPGRADE PROCEDURES

Step by step Procedure
1. Referee compiles game counts and forwards to SRA with appropriate fee.
2. SRA verifies game counts, and sends email to outline rest of process to Referee, ARA, and SDA
3. Appropriate written exam is taken under supervision of ARA/SRA and local Instructor. Grade is sent to SRA.
4. Appropriate Fitness Test is taken under supervision of ARA/SRA. Times/distances are sent to SRA.
5. Passing results from written and fitness tests will be communicated to SDA.
6. SDA assigns Assessor(s) to appropriate match(es). Note that any out-of-state assessments for upgrade must be cleared through the SDA or SRA in advance.
7. Assessor communicates results of assessment(s) to SDA/SRA.
8. SRA requests new Referee Registration Form be filled out and signed by Referee.
9. A new Registration Form is sent from the Referee to the SRA.
10. SRA processes upgrade through USSF.
All of the above should take place within the allotted 12 month period from Step 1 through Step 10.
Payment Schedule for Assessments
1. For upgrades from grade 8 to 7 the Referee will send the SRA, at the time they send a letter requesting upgrade, a check for $80.00 payable to "SCREFEREE". This will cover the assessment fees and any costs incurred in the upgrade process.
2. For upgrades from grade 7 to 6 the Referee will send the SRA, at the time they send a letter requesting upgrade, a check for $170.00 payable to "SCREFEREE". This will cover the cost of three assessments and any costs incurred in the upgrade process.
3. For upgrades from grade 6 to 5 the Referee will send the SRA, at the time they send a letter requesting upgrade, a check for $200.00 payable to "SCREFEREE". This will cover the cost of three assessments and any costs incurred in the upgrade process.
4. For Maintenance Assessments and Developmental Assessments, the assessor will be paid by the SRA the scale assessment fee based upon the Assessor Grade, after the referee and SDA have received copies of the assessment.
