Where is My 2009 USSF Badge?
January 10, 2009

To: All USSF Referees, Assignors, Instructors, and Assessors in South Carolina

From: Fred Bieber, State Referee Administrator - South Carolina

Many referees in SC have already taken the necessary steps to Re-Certify for 2009 - some even attended the clinic in August. However, in speaking with many of you, we have found that 2009 USSF Credentials (Badges and ID Cards) have not yet been received. This, of course, is not good, since we are getting ready to start a new season.

In discussing this issue with USSF in Chicago, we have determined that there has been a problem in mailing credentials to some states. South Carolina is one of those states. To solve the problem immediately, we have asked USSF to mail all South Carolina credentials again. They have agreed to do so, and will be commencing the mass mailing on Thursday, January 15, 2009. Since they send packets out in bulk, this may take up to 2 weeks to arrive in your homes. Please be patient, and allow for the time needed to get these to your home.

If you have already received your 2009 credentials, you may receive another packet. This should present no problem.

If you have met all of the re-certification requirements, and you are going to officiate at any games in 2009 before you receive your 2009 badge in the mail, you may wear your 2008 badge. This is a "limited" situation and should be kept to a minimum. Under normal circumstances, you must always wear a badge with the current registration year on it. This "limited" situation will not be extended past January 31, 2008.

Please direct any questions concerning this issue to me.
